Chinese companies have sent military equipment to their Russian counterparts, including 1,000 assault rifles, 12 shipments of drone parts and over 12 tons of body armor, Politico reported on Thursday, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Customs and trade data aggregator ImportGenius allegedly showed the media outlet that the transfers of dual-use equipment between companies, some of which have connections to their respective governments, took place in the second half of 2022. It is not clear if the rifles are used in the conflict in eastern Europe, according to the report.
“China did not create the crisis. It is not a party to the crisis, and has not provided weapons to either side of the conflict,” Liu Pengyu, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington told the news organization.
