‘Close relationship between Azerbaijani and Georgian parliaments contributes to development of intergovernmental relations”

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met with Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia David Usupashvili as part of his official visit to Tbilisi.

At the meeting it was mentioned that the inter-parliamentary cooperation is one of the important components of the developing friendship and partnership relations between the two countries and a close relationship between the Parliaments of the two countries contributes to the development of intergovernmental relations.

David Usupashvili commended the cooperation with the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and linked it to friendly relations. He stressed that they are trying to contribute to the existing successful cooperation between the two countries on the level of parliaments.

At the meeting they stated that projects of global nature being carried out between the countries are signs of existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov informed about his visit to Georgia and meeting with the Foreign Minister and noted that discussions were fruitful and efficient. The Minister underlined that Azerbaijan and Georgia are standing on the same position on the issues of international agenda and mutually support each other.
