‘We feel Azerbaijan’s great help in such a difficult time for us,’ Kanevskiy Vladislav, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan told journalists, APA reports.

Mr. Ambassador noted that it was Heydar Aliyev who was the true founder of the great friendship between Ukraine and Azerbaijan: ‘It is exactly thanks to Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev that the strategic partnership is actively developing today. There is love and special relationship between our citizens and there are very strong ties between our states. Therefore, commemorating the memory of the National Leader is always a great honor for us.’

The diplomat noted that these days, many events dedicated to Heydar Aliyev’s 100th anniversary are being held in Ukraine: ‘This is not only memory, this is our duty as Ukrainians.’

The Ukrainian ambassador also brought attention to Azerbaijan’s support.

‘We are so grateful to Azerbaijan as we feel your great help in such a difficult time for us,” he said.
