Conference on “Karabakh in the international humanities and social sciences: modern research”

The conference “Karabakh in the international humanities and social sciences: modern research” was held on June 17-19. The conference was organized by the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, the Institute of Caucasus Studies, the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi, the Central Scientific Library, the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and the Institute of Economic Development and Social Research of the Republic of Turkey.

The Institute of Folklore told AZERTAC that the vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli informed about the research work and activity program to be carried out by the academy within the Great Return Plan announced by President Ilham Aliyev. During his speech, the academician drew attention to the Shusha Declaration signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey on June 15 and its importance.

Director of the Folklore Institute, academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov said that this conference is held on very significant days. The Shusha Declaration contains very valuable articles not only in the political, economic and military spheres, but also in the fields of science, culture and education. Two of these articles are related to the promotion and development of culture. The scientist said that we must take measures to protect cultural monuments in Azerbaijan, especially in Karabakh, and implement these measures on a regular basis. Our main goal should be to study Karabakh culture and promote it in the world. At the end of his speech, the academician noted that this conference is of great importance in opening our hands in scientific, economic, military, as well as in all areas, in setting important prospects.

Vice-rector for international relations of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Professor Mahira Huseynova said that the conference was dedicated to a very topical and important issue – Karabakh. There is a great need for such events on Karabakh, because it is at such conferences that issues are resolved and steps are taken.

Director of the Institute of Caucasus Studies, corresponding member of ANAS, MP Musa Gasimli noted that for the first time since the liberation of our lands by our army under the leadership of Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev we are holding an international conference as a victorious state. will play a role.

The director of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi, academician Mohsun Nagisoylu also said in his speech that we all live in the days of history, which evoke a sense of pride in our hearts. The fact that the conference coincides with such a day doubles our joy. He spoke about the work done at the Institute of Linguistics on Karabakh, as well as the preparation of a five-volume “Karabakh dialectological atlas” of the Azerbaijani language. He noted that his institute will prepare and submit the “Karabakh dialectological dictionary” and the monograph “Karabakh dialect”.

Rector of Khazar University, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, spoke about the urgency of the conference and expressed confidence that there would be very fruitful and useful discussions.

Speaking at the conference, Mustafa Latif Mehmet, head of the Turkish Institute for Economic Development and Social Research, stressed the importance of the reports at the conference, noting that the theme of the conference was Karabakh, not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire Turkic world.

Ramazan Gafarli, head of the Dada Gorgud department of the Folklore Institute, Doctor of Philology, expressed regret that the conference was not held in Karabakh due to the burial of countless mines and the great danger. However, he noted that after the victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the 44-day war under the leadership of Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief over the Armenian aggressors, many positive changes have taken place in world politics towards Azerbaijan, as evidenced by the large number of people interested in the conference.

Associate Professor of the Folklore Institute, MP Aziz Alakbarli said that Azerbaijan is experiencing the most glorious period of its history and destiny, which was written by the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army, Azerbaijani soldiers and the Azerbaijani people. He noted that this history continues to be written today, and the Shusha Declaration, which will go down in history in golden letters, is a great event.

Professor of Ankara Gazi University Necati Demir said that thanks to the courage of the young generation, the honor of the Turkish nation was cleansed and Turkey will always stand by brotherly Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, Professor of Talas Nigde Omer Halisdemir University Mustafa Talas said that the common will played a great role in the processes taking place in the Turkic world, and expressed confidence that greater success will be achieved due to the strong will.

At the end of the opening ceremony of the conference, the speakers were awarded symbolic gifts by the leadership of IKSAD.

It should be noted that the three-day conference “Karabakh in the international humanities and social sciences: modern research” heard reports by more than 200 speakers in various sections.
