The Turkish Ministry of Defense has distributed a video on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from Armenian and Bolshevik detachments by the Caucasian Islamic Army. A congratulatory message is attached to the personnel of the joint exercises of the Armed Forces of Turkey and Azerbaijan, which says:
“We congratulate the Azerbaijani people on the 105th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from enemy occupation. We remember Nuri (Killigil) Pasha with respect and mercy and the heroes of the Caucasian Islamic Army under his command, who did not leave our Azerbaijani brothers-Turks in trouble.
Just like 105 years ago, today we continue to remain one heart and one fist with our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters,” the appeal reads.
*On September 15, 1918, the army under the command of Nuri Pasha liberated Baku, which allowed the young Azerbaijani government to move from Ganja, where it had been sitting after May 28, 1918.
Having declared independence on May 28, 1918, Azerbaijan signed the first agreement with the Ottoman state.
