Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif will pay a visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on January 24-25, 2021, Iran’s Embassy to Azerbaijan told APA.


During the visit, he will meet with President Ilham Aliyev, Deputy Prime Minister and chair of Joint Cooperation Commission between two countries Shahin Mustafayev and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.


Both sides will discuss several important issues within the framework of the visit.


This includes issues of mutual interest of the two countries in the field of bilateral cooperation(joint cooperation projects, economic, political, cultural cooperation, etc.), Iran’s participation in the development of six-party regional cooperation in the format of the November 10 Statement (signed among Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia), the participation of Iranian companies in the reconstruction of the liberated territories of Nagorno-Karabakh, Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia trilateral cooperation within the North-South corridor,” the information reads.


Within the framework of this regional visit, the Iranian Foreign Minister is expected to visit Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Turkey after Azerbaijan and discuss the development of regional cooperation with officials of these countries.
