Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed off on the "list of paid archival services and the corresponding fees" and the "procedures for utilizing funds allocated to the National Archival Administration to enhance social protection for State Archival Service employees and improve the service's material and technical infrastructure." It's worth noting that adjustments to these decisions can be made following the guidelines laid out in the "Regulation on the procedure for the development and adoption of regulatory legal acts of executive authorities," as approved by the President's Decree on August 24, 2002. The National Archives Department of the Republic of Azerbaijan serves as the central executive authority responsible for implementing the state's archival policies. It was established through President Heydar Aliyev's Decree No. 816 on December 2, 2002, with the aim of improving archival work in the country. The Regulations on the National Archives Department were subsequently approved on September 27, 2003. The archival system of Azerbaijan comprises 6 state archives of national significance, 15 branches of state archives, the state archives of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, and 55 regional and city state archives, all of which operate under the National Archival Administration's jurisdiction. Notably, a specialized laboratory for document restoration operates under the National Archive's purview. In June 1999, the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) passed the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the National Archival Fund," a legislative framework that was signed into law by the President on June 22, 1999. According to this law, all archival documents within Azerbaijan's territory are considered part of the National Archival Fund, regardless of their origin, location, or ownership. The State archival funds and their documents constitute the state component of the National Archival Fund, while non-governmental archival funds and their documents form the non-governmental part of the Fund.
