Diplomats and military attachés accredited to Azerbaijan visit Zangilan, Gubadli districts

Representatives of diplomatic corps, as well as military attachés accredited to Azerbaijan have visited the country’s Zangilan and Gubadli districts.

 

About 150 visitors, including representatives of nearly 70 embassies based in Baku and Ankara, representatives of over 10 international organizations, ambassadors, military attachés, as well as representatives of relevant government agencies of Turkiye arrived at the Zangilan International Airport.

 

Diplomats and military attachés first familiarized themselves with the Zangilan International Airport. Director of Zangilan International Airport Vugar Hasanov informed the visitors about the airport.

 

The visit was followed by a briefing on the work done in the framework of the “First State Program on Great Return to the liberated from the occupation territories of Azerbaijan” adopted by the Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated on November 16, 2022 and the future plans.

 

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev highlighted the history, demographic situation, strategic importance, economic potential of Zangilan and Gubadli districts, as well as the damage inflicted by Armenia during the 30-year occupation.

 

Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev made a presentation on the master plans of the cities of Zangilan and Gubadli.

 

Other speakers at the briefing included Special Representative of Azerbaijani President in Zangilan district Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in Shusha district Aydin Karimov and Special Representative of Azerbaijani President in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) Emin Huseynov.

 

The visitors then headed to Zangilan district. As they moved along the Okhchuchay River, the representative of Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources informed the visitors about the environmental terror and damage caused by Armenian and a number of foreign companies who deliberately dumped wastes into the river.

 

Diplomats and military attachés familiarized themselves with the mass destructions committed by Armenia, as well as the restoration process carried out by Azerbaijan, including the Mosque constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the first residential building, school and other projects implemented in the district.

 

They also visited Aghali village of Zangilan district, as they were informed about the “smart village” project, the village’s infrastructure, as well as Archimedes screw turbine Hydro Power Plant.

 

As they arrived in the city of Gubadli turned into ruins by Armenia, the visitors also familiarized themselves with the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the city.
