EU commission to invest €1.98B in digital transition

The European Commission announced on Wednesday it will invest another €1.98 billion from its Digital Europe Programme to further enhance the process of the European Union’s digital transition, APA reports citing Breaking News.

The commission’s plan will focus mostly on the matters of “artificial intelligence (AI), cloud and data spaces, quantum communication infrastructure, advanced digital skills, and the wide use of digital technologies across the economy and society,” cybersecurity, and developing the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs.

“With the Digital Europe Programme, we are building secure and sustainable digital infrastructures. The aim is that everyone in Europe – citizens, businesses and administrations – can benefit from market-ready technological solutions, Executive Vice President for A Europe Fit for the Digital Age Margrethe Vestager commented.
