Events on the occasion of Eid al-Adha were held in types of troops of the Azerbaijan Army, the Combined Arms Army and special educational institutions, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

First, during the events, the memory of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.

The congratulations of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, were conveyed to the military personnel.

A feast of the sacrifice was held with the participation of servicemen, and festive tables were served for them.

According to the instructions of the Minister of Defense, the military personnel visited the families of martyrs and heroes, who lost their health, they were congratulated by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and presented with festive gifts.
