The Sabail Court of Baku was arrested on April 28, the former head of the Shamkir District Executive Power Alimpasha Mammadov for 4 months – for the period of preliminary investigation.
The arrest submission was made by the State Security Service, which detained Mammadov on Monday. The next day he was dismissed from his post.
Together with Mammadov, his first deputy, chief architect and representative of the executive power in the city of Shamkir were detained.
The reason for the arrests has not yet been disclosed, as well as the official information about the arrest itself. However, there is no doubt that the reason is corruption crimes.
Mammadov is the sixth chief executive arrested on a similar charge in the past year and a half.
