Former Turkish Prime Minister Yildirim Akbulut has died at the age of 86.
AZERTAC reports that Akbulut, who served as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey from October 26, 1984 to September 6, 1987, was the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly from 1987 to 1989.
He continued his activity as the Prime Minister of Turkey during the presidency of Turgut Ozal between 1988-1991.
Akbulut died at Ankara University Medical Faculty Hospital, where he was treated.
