Formula 2 Championship Culminates in Baku with Final Races

BAKU – The Formula 2 championship wrapped up its final races in Baku this weekend, coinciding with the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, drawing racing enthusiasts to the city’s famed track.

According to Trend News Agency, the event began promptly at 11:35 local time. Trident’s Richard Verschoor was the standout performer, securing the top position in the qualifying rounds held on September 13. The Baku circuit, known for its challenging layout featuring 20 turns and spanning 51 laps, covers a total length of 306.049 kilometers. Initially introduced in 2016 as the European Grand Prix, the race has since been rebranded and celebrated as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, becoming a staple in the Formula 1 calendar since 2017.

This year marks the seventh instance of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku city track, which has quickly become a highlight of the international racing calendar, known for its blend of high-speed straights and tight corners that challenge even the most skilled drivers.
