Georgia extradites wanted person to Azerbaijan


Based on the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia made a decision on the extradition of Rzayev Namig Ibrahim, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with the requirements of the Convention “On Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases” dated 22.01.1993, Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan stated, APA reports.

In the case of the preliminary investigation at the Narimanov District Prosecution Office of Baku, as reasonable suspicions were established that Namig Rzayev committed the crime of embezzlement by using his position of service and causing considerable damage, a decision was made to bring him in as an accused person and he was put on international search list.

On December 11, Namig Rzayev was detained on the territory of Georgia and brought to Azerbaijan accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan.
