Georgia increased electricity import from Azerbaijan

In January-July of the current year, Azerbaijan exported 502,2 mln kWh electricity to Georgia, according to the report of Georgia Electricity Market Operator (ESCO), APA’s local bureau reports.

Noted that this figure is 88,7 mln kWh or 21,3% more in comparison to the analogical period of the previous year.

Thus, in the first 7 months of 2020, Georgia has imported 416,5 mln kWh electricity from Azerbaijan. In the current year, Import from Azerbaijan has made up 29,6% of total electricity import of Georgia. In the reporting period, Russia has been the main electricity supplier of Georgia- 1 040,1 mln kWh. During January-July months, voluyme of Georgia’s total electricity import has made up 1 706,5 mln kWh.
