Germany’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 7.4% on a yearly basis in April, the Federal Statistical Office announced on Wednesday, confirming the preliminary report, APA reports citing Tele Trader.
Compared to the previous month, inflation was at 0.8%. The harmonized index of consumer prices came to 7.8% year-on-year and 0.7% monthly.
The report noted an above-average increase in food and energy prices in April at 35.3% and 8.6% annually respectively, stating that “this is where the impact of the war in Ukraine is becoming more and more visible.”
