Heroin worth $1.1 million confiscated from organizer of drug syndicate

Law enforcement officers of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan neutralized an international drug trafficking group that supplied heroin in especially large quantities. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

«As a result of a long multi-stage special operation, officers of the State Service on Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee for National Security and the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan stopped the activities of the international drug syndicate, which specialized in the transportation through Kyrgyzstan and sale of large quantities of drugs of Afghan origin. While transporting and storing more than 100 kilograms of heroin in Almaty, the organizer of the drug channel, a 36-year-old citizen of Tajikistan, was detained,» the statement says.

The approximate cost of the seized drug on the black market is $1,190 million. The investigation is ongoing. All people involved in the crime are being identified.
