Astara: Azerbaijani humanitarian aid trucks, dispatched from Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, have passed through the Astara state border checkpoint. The convoy is part of a relief effort aimed at assisting Iran with essential supplies.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the humanitarian aid includes about 30 tons of food products. This comprises 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of drinking water, and about 600 kilograms of tea. Additionally, the aid package contains about 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the support.
The aid initiative was organized following a telephone conversation between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian on March 8. This dialogue between the leaders highlighted the importance of supporting the current needs of the neighboring and friendly Iranian people, leading to the dispatch of the aid convoy.
