Hungary should receive the first 100 mcm of Azerbaijani gas by the end of 2023, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.

“As a result of the political agreement with Azerbaijan, our trade negotiations have led to a small success. In 2023, the supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan to Hungary will begin,” Szijjarto said at a press conference with Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Rechan.

According to foreign media, in 2023 gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Hungary will amount to 100 mcm. “This is the first step towards concluding a long-term contract with Azerbaijan for the supply of several bcm of gas,” Szijjarto added.
