Argentine President Alberto Fernandez was attacked by protesters during a visit to Lago Puelo in the province of Chubut, where the fire broke out.
APA reports that the local La Nacion TV channel broadcast footage of the incident.
The guards managed to take the president through the crowd and put him in a minibus. But then the crowd around the car began to hit the minibus.
Shortly after the minibus drove away, one of the protesters threw a stone and broke one of the side windows. Then several more stones were thrown in the direction of the bus.
It was not immediately clear whether the president was injured.
