In European UGS, the volume of gas reserves exceeds 60 bcm

Gas injection into underground storage facilities (UGS) in Europe again exceeds its selection, the dynamics of reserves has been fluctuating for almost a week, according to data from the Association of Gas Infrastructure Europe, GIE. According to GIE, by the morning of March 23, the volume of reserves in the EU UGS was 55.62%. This is 21.24 percentage points more than the average at the reporting date for the last five years. However, this is not a record: for example, in 2020, the UGS of Europe were filled by 55.97% by the end of March 22. The total volume of gas in the European Union’s storage facilities now amounts to 60.73 billion cubic meters. It should be noted that in 19 EU countries there are UGS with a total gas storage volume of just over 109 bcm.
