Provocations have been carried out by Armenia on the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border after the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Zangazur province on April 21.
According to Azerbaijan State Border Service, the units of the State Border Service located in Zangilan region’s Seyidlar village, as well as units of the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation serving on the Armenian side, were subjected to fire by Armenian servicemen.
In connection with the incident, Russian border guards have applealed to their Azerbaijani colleages and asked them not to react to this provocation, as they were intoxicated.
Taking into consideration the appeal of the Russian side, Azerbaijani body guards have demonstrated restrain, and retaliatory fire was not opened.
At the same time, on the same day, a group of people driving 30-40 cars were moving towards the state border chanting anti-Azerbaijani slogans.
The State Border Service has informed that if such provocations are repeated, harsh retaliatory measures will be taken.
