Iran Sets New Currency Exchange Rates for September

TEHRAN — The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has updated the official exchange rates for foreign currencies as of September 25, marking significant shifts in the value of the Iranian rial against major currencies.

According to Trend News Agency, the latest data from the CBI reveals that prices for 44 different currencies have risen compared to their values on September 24. The official exchange rate for the US dollar is now 444,012 Iranian rials, and for the euro, it is 495,096 rials, a slight increase from 492,587 rials the previous day.

The CBI employs multiple systems for currency exchange, including the SANA system used by exchange offices, where the euro is currently valued at 552,336 rials and the US dollar at 495,346 rials. Another system, NIMA, which is designed for selling a portion of foreign currency earnings from exports, lists the euro at 518,626 rials and the dollar at 465,114 rials.

Additionally, rates on the black market continue to differ significantly, with the dollar trading between 598,000 and 601,000 rials and the euro between 670,000 and 673,000 rials. These disparities highlight ongoing volatility in Iran’s foreign exchange market amid broader economic challenges.
