Iran summoned the British ambassador to the Foreign Ministry on Sunday after an attack by a violent group on the Iranian embassy in London, according to Anadolu Agency.

Simon Shercliff was reminded of “the British government’s commitments within the framework of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations” and a protest note was given, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Shercliff expressed his regret over the attack and said he would convey Iran’s protest to London and hoped not to encounter such problems in the future.
