The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a statement confirming that Nazanin Zaghari, an Iranian-British citizen, has been arrested in Iran.
According to the statement, the IRGC forces arrested Nazanin Zaghari April 3 at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport and then transferred her to the south eastern city of Kerman for investigation, Tasnim news agency reported.
The statement added that the Iranian-British citizen is in a prison in Kerman and she has regular contacts and meetings with her family members.
The IRGC statement suggested that the judiciary and IRGC officials are currently investigating Zaghari’s case in Tehran.
Nazanin Zaghari has been accused of participating in media and cyber projects aimed at overthrowing the Islamic Republic system.
