Israeli Airstrike in Beirut’s Jnah District Results in Casualties

Beirut: An Israeli airstrike on Wednesday night targeted an apartment in the Jnah district of Beirut, resulting in the death of one individual and the injury of another. The area, known for housing media offices, was reportedly used by a reporter from the local Al-Mayadeen TV, according to APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Al-Mayadeen TV stated that the targeted apartment served as an office for its journalist. The network condemned the attack, holding Israel responsible for what they described as targeting a well-known journalist affiliated with a prominent media organization. Al-Mayadeen further noted that it had vacated its Beirut office the previous month.

In a related report, the local al-Jadeed TV channel confirmed the casualty count, although it did not provide details regarding the identities of the individuals affected by the strike.

The Israeli military also conducted airstrikes in Dahieh, the southern suburbs of Beirut, on the same night. These actions followed prior warnings f
rom Israel about potential attacks on several sites in the area. This incident is part of a broader pattern of escalating military actions, as Israeli forces have been carrying out intensive airstrikes on Lebanon since September 23, amid rising tensions with Hezbollah. In early October, these tensions further escalated with an Israeli ground operation near the southern Lebanese border.
