Kamran Bayramov: The new division of economic regions will create ample opportunities for the development of the Karabakh region

In order to ensure the consistent and purposeful development of cities and regions of our country, the rapid restoration of our territories liberated from Armenian occupation as a result of the 44-day war, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on July 7, 2021 approved a new division of economic regions. According to the decree, large-scale measures taken to restore and develop the liberated territories, to implement the necessary infrastructure projects and to implement the Great Return to Karabakh have ensured the equal development of these territories and their division into economic regions.

The statement AZERTAG told members of the National Assembly’s Committee on Regional Affairs Kamran Bayramov said.

Noting that there were 10 economic regions in the country before the recent changes, and their number reached 14 according to the newly approved division, the MP said: “Approval of the new division of Azerbaijani territories by economic regions, first of all, ensures sustainable and balanced development of cities and regions. It will serve to accelerate the socio-economic development of our regions, strengthen their economic potential, and thus improve the welfare of the population.

K.Bayramov stressed that the newly approved division includes the Karabakh economic region (Khankendi, Agjabadi, Agdam, Barda, Fuzuli, Khojaly, Khojavend, Shusha and Tartar regions) and the East Zangazur economic region (Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Gubadli, Lachin and Zangilan regions). ) rapid and purposeful development of the liberated territories, lays the foundation for the consistent implementation of regional policy in the region, opens new opportunities for the implementation of new and global infrastructure and transport projects.

Undoubtedly, the newly approved division will create ample opportunities for the future development and progress of the Karabakh region.
