Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan discuss mutual recognition of COVID-19 passports

Kazakhstan and Turkey have mutually recognized COVID-19 passports.

Kazakhstan is currently negotiating the mutual recognition of COVID-19 passports with Azerbaijan, Argentina, Jordan, Indonesia, Morocco, Russia, Uzbekistan, the Philippines and other countries.

The sides exchanged notes on mutual recognition of vaccination passports with the competent authorities of Georgia, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Thailand and Turkey, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

Thus, on the basis of COVID-19 passports, citizens of Kazakhstan and the above-mentioned countries can cross the state border without quarantine restrictions (PCR-testing, self-isolation, etc.).

According to the Foreign Ministry, in order to travel to Belarus, Vietnam, Egypt and Oman, it will be enough for Kazakh citizens to present a document confirming vaccination against COVID-19 at border checkpoints.
