Kazakhstan Boosts Grain Exports to Central Asia in 2024


ALMATY-Kazakhstan significantly increased its grain exports to Central Asian neighbors:azakhstan significantly increased its grain exports to Central Asian neighbors, reaching a total of 2.5 million tons from January through August 2024, with further increases expected.

According to Trend News Agency, the disclosure came during the latest meeting of Kazakhstan’s Operational Headquarters for the fall field work, led by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin. The detailed figures presented indicated that Uzbekistan was the largest recipient, importing 1.8 million tons of the total exports. Tajikistan received 600,000 tons, while Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan imported a combined total of 100,000 tons. Additionally, the early days of September saw a sharp increase in exports. “For 12 days of September, 132,000 tons of grain were sent to Central Asian countries. It is 2.5 times more than in September 2023. Until the end of the month, the volume of grain shipments will be about 250,000 tons,” stated Bauyrzhan Urynb
asarov, Managing Director of Kazakhstan Railways.

The report also highlighted a rise in domestic grain transportation, which surged by 11.3 percent compared to the same period last year, totaling more than 1.5 million tons. Overall, Kazakhstan transported 5.7 million tons of grain in the mentioned period.
