Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says that economic issue is the country’s main priority.
Khamenei made the remarks at a meeting with speaker and members of Iran’s 10th parliament in Tehran June 5, the supreme leader’s official website reported.
The visit took place based on a tradition upon which lawmakers of each new term of the Iranian parliament meet the leader after the inauguration of the parliament.
“Economy is the country’s main issue and we must solve it,” Khamenei said, adding domestic production is a remedy for recession and unemployment.
However, he further said that the culture is also the main issue and even more than the economy in long-term.
Khamenei also criticized what he called indifference towards the culture in the country both in producing useful cultural products and banning harmful cultural products.
