Khankendi Secondary School to Open Classes This September

KHANKENDI— The newly renovated Full Secondary School No. 4 in Khankendi is set to welcome students for the start of classes on September 23, signaling a major advancement in educational infrastructure within the region.

According to Trend News Agency, Anar Majidov, the Acting Head of the Karabakh Regional Education Department, confirmed that the overhaul of the 624-seat school commenced in May following directives from the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan. The school boasts a comprehensive range of facilities, including 11 classrooms, specialized labs for chemistry, physics, and biology, technology and informatics rooms, two rooms dedicated to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) subjects, a pre-conscription training room, a library, assembly and sports halls, and a canteen.

Majidov also noted that 296 students are already registered to attend the school, with an additional 57 applications currently under review. An electronic registration system is expected to go live shortly to finalize these pending applications. The school has already appointed a director and finalized its teaching staff, selecting educators based on their high performance in certification processes.

Furthermore, Majidov added that along with School No. 4 in Khankendi, a kindergarten and the full secondary School No. 1 in the Karkijahan settlement are also ready and expected to open their doors soon, broadening the educational opportunities in the region.
