KOICA training program to be held in Korea for officials of State Migration Service

An Orientation was held at the KOICA Azerbaijan Office for four officials of the State Migration Service, who are going to represent Azerbaijan at the KOICA Training Program titled Capacity Building for Immigration Service Management” to be held in Korea on May 10–30, 2018. According to KOICA Azerbaijan Office, the training program aims to increase capacities of participants on understanding of Korea’s information immigration control system and Korean Immigration Act, seek appropriate steps to resolve problems and set up more effective immigration service management system. The Implementing Agency of the Training Program is Institute of Justice of the Republic of Korea and 16 participants from 5 countries will participate at the training program. At the Orientation the Country Director of the KOICA Office in Azerbaijan Park Kumok emphasized that the training programs have a significant contribution in human resources development of Azerbaijan and wished good luck to all participants. She noted that KOICA Fellows have undertaken many events in Azerbaijan such as annual receptions and charity events. She invited the participants to be one of the active members of KOAZ and play a substantial role in fostering the cooperation between two countries.

The KOICA is a state agency, which was established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea in 1991, in order to implement grant and cooperation programs for developing nations. The KOICA has been inviting Azerbaijani public officials to various fellowship and scholarship programs since 1994. As of 2018, the number of KOICA alumni has reached over 635.
