Konul Nurullayeva: We can achieve epidemiological stability through vaccination

The fight against COVID-19 continues. Vaccination is the most effective way to fight this dangerous disease. This is important for the development of mass immunity. According to medical experts, mass immunity is caused by those who are infected and vaccinated. At present, the number of people vaccinated in our country is 2.9 million, and the number of infected is 330,000. Only the emergence of mass immunity in more than 70-80 percent of the country’s population can create epidemiological stability.

The statement AZERTAG to Nurullayeva Hearts MP said in a statement.

According to the MP, the successful and flexible policy of combating the pandemic has made Azerbaijan one of the leading countries in the world in the process of vaccination. Today, the population of Azerbaijan has a choice of 4 types of vaccines. Each of them is effective and safe: “In general, vaccination has always been the only cure for infectious diseases. Even centuries of experience have created the reality that “choosing to be vaccinated means choosing to live.” It is no coincidence that between 1916 and 1920, 30 percent of the world’s 2 billion people were infected with the Spanish flu, a deadly virus that killed 50 million people. That’s more than the number of people killed in World War I. ”

Nurullayeva noted that before the measles vaccine was invented in the 1960s, about 2.6 million people died of the disease each year. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of deaths from measles decreased by 80 percent between 2000 and 2017.

Modern vaccines save millions of lives. People have also been saved from polio thanks to the vaccine.

Vaccines not only prepare our immune system to fight the virus, but also protect other people. In other words, vaccinated people protect their surroundings thanks to the acquired immunity.

“COVID-19 vaccines are vital to ending the pandemic that has killed nearly 3.9 million people worldwide. That is, it seems that we need to be vaccinated for a healthy and prosperous future. From the very first day, we fought against this dangerous virus together, and we became stronger together, realizing our social responsibility.

We must take the same position in the vaccination process and continue to be strong together, “he said.
