Kyrgyzstan and Russia Ink Deal for New Industrial Park


ISSYK-KUL REGION—In a significant development aimed at boosting local industrial capabilities, Kyrgyzstan and Russia have agreed to establish a joint industrial park in Kyrgyzstan. This collaboration was solidified through a memorandum signed at the Kyrgyz-Russian Forum held in the Issyk-Kul region.



According to Trend News Agency, the memorandum involves cooperation between Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Russian Technopolis Himgrad industrial complex. The primary aim of this partnership is to foster the creation and growth of a Kyrgyz-Russian industrial and technology park, focusing on localizing production within Kyrgyzstan.



Key aspects of the agreement include developing a unified approach to establish the joint park, identifying priority industrial sectors, selecting a suitable site, attracting investments, recruiting residents, and overseeing the design and construction of park facilities. Additionally, the memorandum covers the management of the park’s operations once established.



Furthermore, Himgrad will provide valuable insights and expertise to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy, sharing experiences from Russia and other countries in setting up and managing industrial and technology parks, thereby contributing to the project’s success.
