Members of the Muslim Unity Movement about the hunger strike of their supporters

On Monday, a group of activists of the Muslim Unity Movement held a press conference on the hunger strike of a group of imprisoned believers. Elchin Gasimov, a member of the movement, said that the total number of hungry people today is 10 people, but the authorities ignore the action and do not provide information about the hungry.

“We tried our best to resolve this issue in a civil manner, but the authorities do not seem to want this,” he said. “The talk is not about the hungry and their families, we call on the authorities to respect the Almighty. Let them investigate and punish those responsible,” he continued.

Gasimov recalled that human rights activist Rufat Safarov sent a message to the Ombudsman with a call to visit the Gobustan prison and check the state of the initiator of the hunger strike, the leader of the Muslim Unity Movement Tala Bagirzade.

The reason for the hunger strike of the believers was the insulting statements of the police during the detention and interrogation of the believers.
