Military vehicle blown up in Turkey, 2 injured

Two soldiers were injured as a military vehicle tripped a mine in Turkey, the Milliyet newspaper reported July 28.

Reportedly, the militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) stand behind the incident.

The vehicle was blown up on the way to Semdinli district of Turkey’s Hakkari province.

An operation for capturing the terrorists has been launched in the province.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives. The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
