The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society held a joint tactical-special exercise in Lankaran city. The forces of Main Department of Operations, Southern Regional Center and State Fire Protection Service of MES and the heads and volunteers of 12 city and district units of Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society took part in the exercise.

The exercise was organized on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society within the framework of the “Building safe and strong communities” project. The exercise aimed at verifying the reality of operational and interaction plans during natural disasters, and further increasing the knowledge and skills of exercise participants regarding emergency situations.

Detailed information about the exercise was given around the round table and the scenario of the exercise was discussed in the theoretical part of the exercise.

Operations on assessing operational conditions caused by a simulated natural disaster, extinguishing the fire, evacuating people from dangerous areas with mutual efforts of agencies, implementing search and rescue measures, providing first aid to the wounded and first psychological support to the people experiencing stress were successfully carried out in the practical part of the exercise.

The tasks set during the exercise were achieved.
