Next meeting of the Public Council under MES held

The next meeting of the Public Council under the MES in preparation for the beach season was held on June 13, 2022, in the administrative building of the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The meeting aimed at discussing the relevant safety measures taken by the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue on the upcoming beach season and the upcoming tasks.

Chairman of the Public Council Fuad Hajizade and other members of the Council, Deputy Chief of the MES Main Department for Oganization of Activities with Regional Centers, Project Management and Educational Affairs Gunduz Hamzayev, Head of the Department of Public Relations Department Parviz Jafarov, Deputy Chief of the State Service for Small Vessels and Water Rescue, internal service Colonel Seymur Garashov and Service employees attended the meeting.

Representatives of the Service gave information about the work done in preparation for the beach season. It was noted that monitoring was held in the coastal areas since April with the participation of representatives of relevant agencies. During the monitoring, unusable and dangerous areas for beach safety were identified.

As a result of monitoring, working conferences were held with the participation of representatives of relevant agencies on the elimination of identified shortcomings and deficiencies at local executive authorities, relevant instructions were given. In addition, underwater inspections were carried out by divers on the beaches controlled by the Service, including the public beaches established in Garadagh, Sabail, Khazar, Sabunchu and Binagadi districts of Baku at the initiative of the IDEA Public Union, and the coastline was cleared.

The technical state of the rescue equipment and means on the balance of the Service, as well as the equipment used in diving and search operations were reviewed.

Currently, placing signs which define the boundaries of swimming and special boards to educate citizens resting in the area on safety rules on the beaches controlled by the Service are close to completion.

Members of the Public Council appreciated the work done by the Service in preparation for the beach season and spoke about the importance of joint activities with relevant agencies to eliminate the shortcomings and deficiencies identified as a result of monitoring conducted in coastal areas.

During the meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of mutual exchange of views, members of the Public Council expressed their views and suggestions on the issue.

It was also decided to involve members of the Public Council in future monitoring during the beach season.
