NIDA movement activist Elmir Abbasov was arrested administratively.
Turan was informed about this by the lawyer Zibeyda Sadigova.
According to her, he was found guilty under Art. 206 (illegal use of narcotic substances in the amount necessary for personal consumption) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
“This information was confirmed to me from the Sumgayit city police department. Currently, Elmir Abbasov is being held in the preliminary detention cell of the Sumgayit police,” the lawyer said.
The NIDA movement told Turan that Abbasov disappeared a few days ago.
“Today his friend received a call from a man who introduced himself as an officer of the Sumgayit city police department and who said that Elmir was arrested,” said a spokesman for the movement.
According to him, Abbasov criticized the Azerbaijani government on social networks.
His arrest is related to this, said the NIDA spokesman.
It was not possible to get comments from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. —21B06-
