No appeal to terminate Bank Melli Iran’s license received – CBA

BAKU, Azerbaijan, The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has not received an appeal in connection with the termination of the license of Bank Melli Iran, said Director General of the CBA Togrul Aliyev, Trend reports.


He made the remark while answering the question about the possibility of closing the branch of the Bank Melli Iran in Azerbaijan.


According to him, today, this issue is not on the agenda.


It should be noted that the net profit of the Baku branch of Bank Melli Iran by the end of 2022 amounted to 1.8 million manat ($1.09 million). Interest income amounted to 3.4 million manat ($2 million), which is an increase of 0.99 percent year-on-year, fees and commission income – 175,850 manat ($103,441), income from foreign exchange transactions – 185,290 manat ($108,994).
