Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev met with the new rector of Tbilisi State University (TSU) Jaba Samushia, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports.

The development of cooperative relations between TSU and higher educational institutions in Azerbaijan was discussed at the meeting.

As well as the issue of establishing Azerbaijani language and literature faculty at TSU, or restoring the specialty of Azerbaijani studies was discussed at the meeting. It was noted that the establishment of the mentioned faculty, or the restoration of the specialty of Azerbaijani studies can prevent the problem of the lack of personnel in Azerbaijani-speaking schools in Georgia.

Ambassador Faig Guliyev also got acquainted with the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the Heydar Aliyev Auditorium at TSU. The University management suggested that the opening ceremony of the auditorium be held in May after the renovation.
