Over 1,700 Organizations Adopt Azerbaijan’s Digital Document Management System

BAKU—Azerbaijan has successfully integrated over 1,700 organizations into its Digital Document Management System (DDMS), announced Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mamedov during the launch of the revamped “mygov” e-government platform.

According to Trend News Agency, Mamedov highlighted the significant strides Azerbaijan has made in digital transformation, particularly as the host country for COP29. He emphasized the environmental and operational benefits of the DDMS, noting that its use has enabled government agencies to save over 500,000 sheets of paper monthly, which translates to about 2,000 saved trees annually.

The integration of these organizations into the DDMS underscores its effectiveness and the country’s commitment to enhancing state digitalization processes. Mamedov also mentioned that as of September 1, 2024, 63 state institutions, which have met information security standards, are now using the Digital Document Management subsystem. This move is part of a broader directive under the August 1, 2023, presidential decree mandating the electrification of document flow between state bodies, ensuring that these systems comply with stringent information security requirements and are provided with secure telecommunications connections.

This digital shift not only represents a substantial environmental impact but also marks a critical step in Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to streamline government operations and foster sustainable, innovative digital solutions.
