Over 524 million tons of crude oil transported via BTC pipeline in first 3Qs

Since the 1,768 km BTC pipeline became operational in June 2006 until the end of the third quarter of 2022, it carried a total of 3.93 billion barrels (more than 524 million tonnes) of crude oil loaded on 5,163 tankers and sent to world markets, bp Azerbaijan toldĀ AZERTAC.

According to the company, in the first three quarters of 2022, BTC spent more than $74 million in operating expenditure and about $17 million in capital expenditure.

In the first nine months of this year, around 164 million barrels (about 22 million tonnes) of BTC-exported crude oil was lifted at Ceyhan loaded on 224 tankers.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of Caspian regional crude oil and condensate continue to be transported via BTC.
