The International Turkic Academy (ITA) will launch the Holy Places of the Turkic World project this year, President of ITA Shahin Mustafayev said.
Mustafayev noted that the rising interests in the historical and cultural heritage monuments and their current state in the Turkish geography is completely usual in terms of the integration process of the Turkic states.
“There are places that are sacred for every Turkic people, and these places are among the elements that determine the national identity. This point necessitates a deep study of the “sacred geography” of the Turkic world. Our goal is to prepare an atlas containing the holy places important for the Turkic world and to reveal the historical ties of our brotherly nations once again,” Mustafayev underlined.
The project will be implemented in accordance with the instructions stipulated in the Final Declaration of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States.
