President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva has met with a delegation headed by Chairman of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World Mujahit Demirtash.

Welcoming the guests, president of the Foundation spoke about the close ties with fraternal Turkey and other member states of the organization. She stressed that Turkey’s chairmanship in the Turkic Cooperation Organizations will make a great contribution to the development of mutual partnership between Turkic states. Noting that the Foundation has been collaborating with the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World since its establishment, Gunay Afandiyeva recalled the holding of a joint international videoconference on the topic “The past, present and future of Karabakh” last year. Stressing that the Foundation is a young international organization, Gunay Afandiyeva spoke about its multifaceted activities towards studying, protection and promotion of Turkic World culture in the international arena, and noted the importance of implementing new projects with the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World in this regard.

Chairman of the Union Mujahit Demirtas expressed great satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan, as well as to the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. In connection with the announcement of the Year 2022 in Azerbaijan as the “Year of Shusha”, the head of the Union stressed the importance of carrying out joint work within the framework of cooperation with the Foundation to restore monuments of the Turkic World, including in the integral part of Azerbaijan – Karabakh, destroyed as a result of Armenian vandalism, as well as in other directions.

Then, highly appreciating the role of Gunay Afandiyeva in preserving the cultural heritage of the Turkic World, Chairman of the Union Mujahid Demirtash presented president of the Foundation with a diploma of election as an Honorary Member of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World.

In conclusion, the parties exchanged keepsakes.
