BAKU—President Vladimir Putin of Russia arrived in Azerbaijan for a state visit on August 18, as reported by Trend. A ceremonial welcome, including a guard of honor, greeted him upon his arrival at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, which was adorned with the national flags of both Russia and Azerbaijan.

According to Trend News Agency, the Russian President was received by a host of Azerbaijani dignitaries including First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, and other senior officials.
