Salt imported from Iran found unfit for consumption

The Food Safety Agency (FSA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues control measures to food products imported to the country, FSA told APA.

 

49,8 tones of salt imported from Iran by Zabil Isgandarov has been inspected by inspectors of the Agency.

 

Samples taken from the products were submitted to the relevant lab of the Azerbaijani Food Safety Institution. As a result of the examination, it was found that the mass fraction of iodine in salt products does not meet the requirements of technical normative legal acts.

 

Agency has adopted a decision that products unfit for consumption and the sale of that batch of products have been not allowed. Currently, relevant measures are being taken within the requirements of the legislation.
