Shusha Hosts Its First Labor Fair to Support Resettled Residents


SHUSHA: The State Employment Agency of Azerbaijan, under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, has successfully conducted the first labor fair in Shusha, aimed at facilitating the employment of residents resettled to territories recently liberated, as part of the “Great Return” initiative.

According to Trend News Agency, the ministry, with the support of the Special Representative Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, organized this pioneering event which attracted 26 employers from both the public and private sectors. The fair showcased over 250 job opportunities across various industries, marking a significant step in reintegrating residents into the workforce.

The event was overseen by Sadig Aliyev, Chairman of the Agency’s Board, and Elshad Iskandarov, chief consultant of the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district. Both officials engaged with employers and reviewed the range of job vacancie
s available. The fair also saw participation from members of the Public Council under the Ministry and representatives from non-governmental organizations.

Additionally, the labor fair provided avenues for registration for job applicants and immediate employment for suitable candidates. Information sessions were also held about a self-employment program and vocational training courses available at the Karabakh Vocational Training Center, with on-site registrations for interested residents.

This labor fair not only aims to boost the local economy by filling job vacancies but also supports the broader goals of the “Great Return” program, which facilitates the resettlement and integration of Azerbaijani citizens back to their ancestral lands.
