Staff of CIS armed forces discuss concepts of troops development
Bishkek (AKIpress) – Heads of the general staffs of the armed forces of the CIS countries have developed the concept of troops, which could be adopted in fall 2015, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said in Sochi after a meeting of the committee of chiefs of staff forces of the CIS countries.
The meeting reviewed the outcome of the implementation of the concept of development of the armed forces of the CIS countries for past period, which was adopted in 2010.
Some basic positions, adopted in the old document, have not been introduced to the new plan. “We have agreed on all points, and we hope to approve the new plan in fall 2015,” Gerasimov noted.
The meeting also addressed the involvement of troops in the competitions on the field, air, naval training of the armed forces of the CIS, which will be held in the territory of Russia and in other CIS countries.
Gerasimov stressed that many of the issues had been addressed and many problems had been solved.
The meeting was attended by delegations from the Ministries of Defense of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.
