Baku/19.01.21/Turan: A structure that prevents pedestrian traffic in one of the main streets in the city of Khirdalan was removed from the sidewalk after interfering with the process of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture (SCUPA). It all started with a well-supported Facebook post complaining about the city’s negligence.
According to official information, the SCUPA received a complaint from local residents about the installation of a kiosk on the sidewalk on Zarifa Aliyeva Street in Khirdalan, Absheron region, not far from Heydar Aliyev Park. The Committee’s specialists immediately inspected the site and found that the kiosk was installed without observing urban planning legislation and regulations, without the necessary approvals and licensing procedures, which makes it difficult for pedestrians to move.
In this regard, the department applied to the Executive Power of the district in accordance with the requirements of the “Rules for the implementation of state urban planning control” approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 375 of November 24, 2014. Thus, the illegal construction was suspended.
“The State Property Committee underlines the particular importance of public control over the urban planning process, thanks residents for the initiative to prevent illegal construction and fulfill civic duty,” the SCUPA said in a statement. –08 —-
